For the past twenty five years we have offered wonderful relaxing get-away-from-it-all three-night breaks in the picturesque surroundings of the Pewsey Vale.
Join us anytime on a Friday or Tuesday afternoon and stay in the caravan overnight. On your first morning you will receive full training and be accompanied to the lunch time stop. The route then involves lunch-time and overnight stops at local hostelries and a groom is available at all times, to assist you.
There will be time to walk, or perhaps horse ride, on the magnificent downland which includes a National Nature Reserve rich in rare flora. Or perhaps you may choose to visit one of the many local ancient sites such as Avebury stone circle.
Previous experience of horses is helpful, but not essential as our horses are quiet, friendly and experienced. Our caravans are ideally suited for two adults and two children, but will sleep 4 adults.
All bedding is provided. Simple cooking can be done on either a Calor gas cooker in the caravan or on an open fire in the meadows where you stay (landowner permitting), or meals can be bought at every stop.
We suggest you bring wet weather clothing and wellies. One set of waterproofs for the driver is available.
We ask that you are prepared to walk sometimes to help the horse on uphill pulls, so you need to be reasonably active. We also feel that this holiday is not suitable for children under five, unless accompanied by an older child or extra adult.
It really is a wonderful break, something different, experiencing a little of the gypsy way of life, a total antidote to stress and a great family outing.
